@escaque my thoughts re dubbing Chess “The Nervous Game”: Chess gets to be “The… Game” because its popularity/history/etc?
A “Nervous Move” may be a chesswise cognitively premature move - a rushed/impulsive move of rest/break from further chess analysis & associated experience - the “non-nervous move” may be a move of chesswise clarity/sincerity, as a follow-through/enactment of thoughts?
Yet chesswise “clarity/sincerity” may be unobtainable or hard to obtain? We know from programming “Hello World” there may be infinitely ways to print to screen the text “Hello World”; similarly, there may be many ways to cognize chess matters to produce move decisions for enregistration/transcribing/etc?
Maybe anyone today lacks sufficient understanding for best practices chess moves, so unto best practices moves chess analysis, all may have “premature” analysis, so all moves all times may be as “premature” “nervous” moves?
Also, the decision to invest in chess, when there are worldly life/death/etc problems to engage/solve, may be nervous?
There may be other reasons why chess may be “The Nervous Game”? “Luzhin Defence” the book made me nervous, for example… Etc…?
