Yesterday afternoon these lovelies joined me for a 90 minute Restorative Pilates Workshop. We spent 20 minutes or so talking about verbal cues commonly used and why they assist with strengthening, lengthening and increasing flexibility. Good discussion and demonstrations were had and we dove into a 5 minute breathing and body scan meditation. We then did a slow and gentle class of beginner mat exercises, focusing on slowing down and concentrating on the principles and intended movements for each exercise. We ended with another 5 minute body scan meditation and, as the teacher, it was quite beautiful to bear witness to the self care and gratitude for the unique strengths each individual's body holds. I LOVE being in Belize and each time my heart connects a little deeper to this country and it's people through work, opportunity and growing relationships in every way. I can't wait for the day I really do only but that one way ticket and continue to #followmybliss even though it's scary and sometimes lonely.
