This weekend was rough on me diet wise. From pizza, crackers, cookies (even if they were organic), wine, ice cream, biscuits and gravy, etc.. It wasn't pretty, lol. I loved being able to eat real food at the park instead of just the typical chicken fingers and fries you find at most parks, lol. Mongolian Beef was amazing! 😜
However, I forgot to bring Edge with me yesterday. 😞 That's my natural energy and mood supplement that only has 3 ingredients!! It helps to keep energy going naturally without synthetic caffeine or sweeteners! And also mellows your mood which is really useful at an amusement park with hot and whiny kids, lol. Well, after eating, we ALL hit a wall and I ended up having to do something I NEVER do. I resorted to drinking an iced coffee to bring me back to life. It had 41g of sugar in it!!! FORTY-ONE!!! I don't need any sugar for days with that amount!! But it was either that or a Monster energy drink and I would rather pass out from exhaustion before drink anything like that, lol.
So tonight after a long drive home, neither one of us felt like cooking but delicious dish from Cava sure did hit the spot!! Time to get back on track!! Many people think that when they are trying to get healthy they have to be so incredibly strict and cut out all sorts of things, but this ends up just leading to frustration and unsustainable weightloss. And I'm pretty sure noone says, " I want to do something to help me lose weight.. But I'd also like to gain it all back in a couple months, can you help me with that?". No? Didn't think so. We need to be flexible!! If we want something we can stick with long term, we need to ease into it and learn to forgive ourselves when we go on vacation and end up having to resort to things that are less than perfect for our diet. Try our best where we can but also give ourselves some grace.
