"Wake up and smell the roses!" Have you awoken yet? Many parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles like to do anything to give the kids in their lives everything they need to have the best possible future. In doing so, much of the time these "things" come at an expense to the natural world. Our freshwater is being depleted. CO2 levels are rising. Polar ice caps are melting. Sea levels are rising. For these kids, the future is looking dire, and they have no idea. All they know is they "NEED" the best technology, the latest fad, the coolest new toy, trips to the hottest attraction, easy and convenient food...the list goes on. The best thing you can give the next generation is education and freedom from consumerism, stop the instant gratification ("I need it now!") mentality from perpetuating. Bring them outdoors and connect them with nature rather than technology. What good will the latest iPhone do these kids when drinking water is scarce, temperatures increase to dangerous levels, health problems flourish, harmful chemicals and toxins are part of daily life, and green spaces are non-existent or filled with trash. There is no app that can fix that.
In simple terms...the shit that you're buying these kids is irresponsible and destroying the natural world.
