The day after the Trump administration announced its plan to rescind DACA, Make the Road PA activists and allies immediately held actions protesting the decision at 17 congressional offices across Pennsylvania. At Rep Charlie Dent's office in Allentown, four members were arrested for protesting and spent almost 10 hours behind bars.
After over 8 months of court proceedings, the four members. Robin, Ashleigh, Jude and Ricardo were placed on 3 months of probation and given an overall fine of over $5,000. In court, the judge reprimanded the four and said that they should continue to protest but not to the point of arrest. This is clearly an attempt to intimidate bold activism in our community.
During those 8 months, Congress has still not passed a #CleanDREAMAct and 800,000 youth have been left in danger of deportation or incarceration.
Help show that the community has the back of these activists and the Dreamers they are fighting for by the end of June, 2018. Any additional funds will be donated to Make the Road Pennsylvania to continue to organize for comprehensive immigration reform.
