Crusty PQ Gold. Great Type Set Coin. “$2,450” Last cac sold for $2,585 back in 2015.
September 9 1857 , off the coast of the Carolinas, the S.S. Central America, better known as the "Ship of gold" combatted a powerful 105mph category 2 hurricane. Ultimately sinking 3 days later. This ship contained 9.1 tons of gold bars and coins. This 1855-S was one of them! This coin not only survived the ferocious storm, but it also managed to remain in almost choice condition under water for over a 130 years 🤓. Graded MS64 CAC makes this one of the finest examples with only 2 graded higher. Finest grade MS66 sold in 2000 for over 120k! #1855#doubleeagle#ssca#sscentralamerica#pcgs#pcgscoin#caccoin#oldgold#gold#coin#coinbase#choice#unc#handledbykeydate
The Peace Dollars were first struck on this day 28 December 1921. Just barely over a million coins bare the 1921 date. I love Peace Dollars and it has become my favorite series to collect. I use to have a complete 24 coin set in mint state ranging from MS60 to MS64. I have since sold most of that set to do a 10 coin date set. Philadelphia minted Peace Dollars unlike most other series have some great keys to the series including the 1921 and 1928. My 10 coin date set is consistent of Philadelphia minted coins. I have a few I would like to upgrade. Shout out to Roger Burdette and his book A Guide Book of Peace Dollars. It was very influential in my approach to collecting Peace Dollars. In Celebration Of the 96 anniversary of the Peace Dollar post the best Peace dollar you have! Here are two of my faves. 1921 MS64 and a 1928 MS64+cac #peacedollar#silverdollar#peacedollars#peace#pcgs#caccoin#pcgscoin#cac#coincollecting
