Reminding the homies over @bodybuildingcom that I went full #brucelee for the #250kchallenge. The biggest thing I learned through this challenge is how to truly make this more of a lifestyle. Before I had this mindset that I’d have to cut and get fat over and over again, but in reality, a “bulking” cycle doesn’t have to mean get super fat. I also learned that I don’t have to get to unhealthy levels of body fat to be happy with my physique. That’s only ever necessary for a bodybuilding shoe which is the stage I want to be competing in (anytime soon at least). For a physique that’s barely past its first year of development, I’d say I look pretty decent for 12% body fat. Being happy and living the lifestyle 🤙. Also, I’d be hella lying if I didn’t say that at least 60% of the motivation for getting abs was my fiancé @kbearklair. She doesn’t even care about my abs; she cares about my heart 😢. How she so perfect

There’s something about being skinny fat that isn’t right. You’re not overweight…but you definitely don’t look good. Maybe no can tell, but YOU know. And that’s the worst.
.
You have skinny arms and legs plus a nice, soft belly. A noodle body.
.
You look like a stick figure but your belly portrudes over your belt. It’s even visible through your shirt at times.
.
That was me. I hated it. .
HATE.
.
And I tried HARD to get rid of my skinny fatness.
.
I stayed skinny fat from age 15 to 22.
.
I thought maybe my science teacher could help. He had big biceps and liked to do curls. The only tip I remember from him: oranges in the parking lot are good so you’ll have energy.
.
My art teacher also enjoyed the weight room. He loved the bench press but wasn’t any help either. Nice guy. But not helpful.
.
Not a single one of my basketball coaches seemed like they really cared to be honest.
.
And the magazines. Man, I bought a lot of magazines. I still remember to this day trying the “Add 1 Inch To Your Biceps in 24 Hours!” at the YMCA on White Rd. It involved lifting all day and eating a lot of food (didn’t work btw lol).
.
You might be wondering, why didn’t you hire a coach?!
.
I did. He charged me $600 for a piece of paper. It had some workouts and a meal plan. And that was the extent of his “coaching”.
.
I was 19. He basically stole my money.
.
We won’t even discuss the supplements. I wasted over $10,000 from age 16 to 22 on supplements. Still skinny fat.
.
Nowadays, I’m not so skinny fat. I finally figured some shit out. Occasionally I still think view myself as that skinny fat, insecure 19 year old. But then I look at what I’ve accomplished.
.
I can deadlift close to 500 pounds on any given day. Or do 30 chin ups. I’ve squatted over 330 pounds. I can dunk (I’m 5’11”). .
And I’ve been shredded to the point of being unreasonable (but it feels good, let me tell you).
.
And I’m still about the same weight I was back in those days. Around 155ish most days.

What’s the key?
.
It has to do with lifting weights. And making your MUSCLES do the work.
