Being a busy mum of four girls, It’s incredibly important to me to have natural solutions on hand and ready to go...
When my youngest daughter was born we discovered that she was really sensitive to most commercial baby products and would break out with skin irritations. I did try some of the more natural fragrance free products, but found them quite expensive...
So I did some research and decided to start making my own products using essential oils.
It’s been a year since I introduced natural solutions into my home, it’s completely changed our health, we absolutely love it and will never go back.
I thought I’d share the first DIY recipe I tried with you. Baby wipes!!! I’ve lost count how many times I’ve made these now.
These wipes take less then 5 minutes to make and they only costs a few dollars, so you’ll be saving money too 🤗
2.35L container with lid
Viva double length paper towel
2 cups of cooled boiled water
2 tablespoons of fractionated coconut oil
1 tablespoon of Castile liquid soap
5 drops of Tea tree essential oil
5 drops of Lavender essential oil
1️⃣ Cut the paper towel in half (save the other half for next time)
2️⃣ Combine the water, fractionated coconut oil, Castile soap and essential oils in a glass jug then mix with a spoon.
3️⃣ Pour half of the mixture into the container, next place(squeeze) paper towel into the container, then pour the remaining liquid evenly over paper towel. Allowing it to soak up all the liquid.
4️⃣ After about a minute or so remove the cardboard roll. Now you can pop on the lid and they are ready to use.
Tip: you can add a little more water if you find the paper towel is still a bit dry.
Also if you would prefer not to use the Castile soap that’s fine, but you’ll need to use a glass container instead.
This recipe works great with reusable wipes too.
These wipes are so soft for baby’s delicate skin, the essential oils used are both gentle and cleansing. My baby girl hasn’t had a nappy rash since I started making them ❤️
I hope you give the baby wipes a go! After making them you won’t want to go back to buying the supermarket ones ☺️
