The ability to stop within a short distance will aid your agility, the fastest players are always also the fastest players to stop, the ability to do this is strength dominated - which is why it's important to include gym work in your schedule.⠀

When putting together an agility session here's a few things you could focus on:⠀ •Changes of direction
•Cutting⠀ •Hurdle work⠀ •Reactions⠀ •Landing⠀ •Stop-starts⠀

Perform 2 or 3 sets of any chosen exercise, performing as many reps as possible in a 10-second time frame. For one complete session you should look to focus on only 4 different exercises max. Remember to keep the speed, once the tempo starts to slow it's time to end that exercise or end the session.⠀

We love rear foot elevated split squats, but we hate when we see knees caving in while doing them!

@achievefitnessboston coach @sarahpolacco is demonstrating what NOT to do in the photo on the left! As you can see, her knee is inside of her midfoot which sets her up for potential knee discomfort and also strengthens a less than optimal movement pattern!

Instead, we like to see something more like the photo on the right, where Sarah is clearly happier about her knee being aligned over her mid foot! This positioning will keep your knees feeling good and will help to strengthen an ideal movement pattern that will lead to improvements in activities like running and sprinting!

Anyone else love watching old television series?! 🙋🏼(hey thanks, @amazonvideo!) When I was 7, I watched the wedding episode over and over with my mom and grandmom. As I watch the entire series now, 20 years later, it's bringing up all kinds of thoughts and feelings. I am just filled with gratitude for these female pioneers who paved the way in medicine for generations of women to come. Dr Quinn is fictional, but women like Dr Elizabeth Blackwell and Florence Nightingale, are not. They are REAL. They wouldn't take no for an answer. They had guts. •
I'm reminded that what I do, treating and caring for patients every single day, is a privilege, a gift, and a blessing. It wasn't always a career option for women. Heck, college wasn't even an option for women!

When they called us bossy, they meant to call us leaders. When they called us stubborn, they meant to call us independent. When they called us know-it-alls, they meant to call us intelligent. When they called us emotional, they meant to recognize our empathy. When they called us soft, they meant to compliment our kindness and compassion.
