Call me old fashioned, but I’m one of those guys that prefers owning the actual digital files of my music rather than paying for Spotify premium because I’m just that psychotic and cheap. Though, there was something intriguingly dangerous about Limewire. You were never sure if you were gonna actually get a legitimate download of that new Eminem song or a computer virus. You were never sure if that “College Teen Sluts Fuck Party” video that you literally never asked for was an actual download or yet more malware and tracking cookies, but you still dared to gamble when curiosity finally got the best of you. [Spoiler alert: more malware. Pro tip: any college teen sluts fuck party video is most likely more than 35 kb.] Last year, I got a cease and desist letter from Time Warner after downloading Outkast’s “Aquemini” that was somehow deleted from my computer ages ago. That album is from 1998 and uploaded 1000 times on YouTube. Find a new fucking hobby, Time Warner. Kindly fuck right off.
