@NYCMayor Bill de Blasio declared August 28, 2018 #AngelaYeeDay to honor Prep alum and radio host Angela Yee (IX) for her dedication to her communities. We were thrilled to have Angela speak to Prep students at a recent @AskCampfire event. She also gives back to others through entrepreneurship, a book club and running group, financial literacy events, and most recently, as an @NYPL Ambassador. Thank you and Congrats Angela!

Yesterday was such an overwhelmingly incredible day for me as @nycmayor Bill de Blasio and @nycfirstlady Chirlane McCray presented me with a proclamation making August 28 #AngelaYeeDay in NYC. I’ve been dedicating a lot of time to things to help make my community better, like partnering up to help open @juicesforlifebk in Bed Stuy, starting the #AngelaYeeBookClub at @woodstackivy in Brownsville, the #RunWithYee running club in Prospect Park, #WealthWednesdays at the juice bar, joining the board for #AFUWI American Foundation for the University of the West Indies, and the #WeAreFamilyFoundation board. And over the weekend I launched my latest venture with my @drinkfreshjuice partners which is a subscription based, pressed juice business so that everyone can have fresh pressed juices delivered to their city.
When I talk to people about everything I’ve been doing, usually they have no idea and know me from the #breakfastclub and @aylipservice. But it’s so important to make time for things that really impact people in a positive way instead of always criticizing what’s wrong. I’m also hype to be named ambassador for the @nypl New York Public Library to encourage people to get their library cards again and see what your local branch has to offer.
I love everyone who has been supportive of me and participated in all my various activities and reached out with words of encouragement. Previously I never envisioned myself doing any of these things but now I aspire even higher ❤️
