Knowledge is power and knowing my history. The history of African Americans and what we experienced, and what changes in the world we made. The things that aren’t written in the history books. The things that aren’t taught in school. It’s important for me to learn as much as I can to make a difference in this world and to inspire other people. I learned so much and had an amazing time at the #africanamericanmuseum *

"I had to do something to let them . . . know I still exist," @cornbreadthelegend says in a new documentary film, Wall Writers: Graffiti in Its Innocence.

I will never forget my tour at the African American museum when I learned about the struggles and triumphs of the African American. The anticipation leaves you on an emotional toll and the underground level is so horrifying, it’s sickening. It was history and it was deep! To think that the African American had to endure slavery, racism, discrimination,.., while it was the norm is disheartening. Emotionally, the experience was a roller-coaster ride of moments of discomfort, shame, outrage, fury, sorrow, and grief punctuated by enough moments of near-miraculous consolation, encouragement, and hope to prevent despair..All left me speechless and questioning why can’t we live together in peace ? The dehumanization of a race of people will never be right and racism will never be justified. #africanamericanmuseum
