The Firm...!!! Happy Anniversary 🎉#FirmBiz #AffirmativeAction #Nas #FoxxyBrown #AZ

#AFFIRMATIVEACTION ON THE WAY , #DBFLYG ONLY 💸👀💯

Today in #HipHopHistory: #TheAlbum is the only studio album by #hiphop supergroup #TheFirm. It was released on October 21, 1997 by #AftermathEntertainment, #Interscope Records and #ColumbiaRecords. The project was created by rapper #Nas, his manager #SteveStoute and producers #DrDre and #Trackmasters, who came up with the idea of forming a hip hop #supergroup. The original line-up included Nas, #AZ, #FoxyBrown and #Cormega who were all featured on the song "#AffirmativeAction" from Nas' album It Was Written (1996). However, Cormega later left the group due artistic differences between him and Nas, as well as contract disagreements with Stoute. He was replaced by #Nature prior to recording of the album. The Album is a concept album that revolves around the themes of mafia and "gangsta" lifestyle. The songs on the album were mainly produced by Dr. Dre, Chris "The Glove" Taylor and Trackmasters (as Poke and Tone), and feature guest vocals from Pretty Boy, Wizard, #Canibus, Dawn Robinson, N.O.R.E. and Half-a-Mill. The Album received mixed reviews from the music critics, who criticized its mainstream pop-oriented sound rather than the members' previous styles. In the United States, the album debuted at number one on the #Billboard 200 and also topped the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It also charted in other countries, such as Canada, France and the United Kingdom. The Album sold 147,000 copies in the debut week and has sold over 925,000 copies in the United States and was certified gold in Canada. Two singles were released from the album, with "#FirmBiz" peaking at number twelve on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and number eighteen on the UK Singles Chart. However, the album's second single "Phone Tap" did not chart. #classichiphop

Today's Intention... SHINE
-
Let us open our hearts to SHINE our Light of love on the world... offering words of kindness and compassion.
-
In this moment, we have the power to SHINE brightly upon each person that crosses our path, in every conversation that we have with one another.
-
We can choose higher thoughts, compassionate words, acts of kindness... we can SHINE brilliantly wherever we are... whatever we are doing.
-
It begins today. Let us begin with conscious awareness...
-
Be thy Light...

EGYPT ENCHANTMENT~ Day 14…
-
This was my last day in the Cairo area. I will be flying south to Abu Simbel tomorrow morning.
-
The remaining part of my trip will be visiting the sacred sites in this area. It will be busy with much travel almost every day. I will be moving to a new hotel or guesthouse each day as we move north.
-
Hakim drove me to the Memphis museum where a massive monument of King Ramesses II lies in a building that was built around him. -
The surprise I found was this Sphinx looking monument that many believe is Queen Hatshepsut. This statue was actually found right where it is standing today. So I sat for 15 minutes and just resonated with the artist that was capturing his subject’s beauty. -
I spent the rest of the day in a coloring meditative state… resting in the heat of the day and taking a walk with Thomas, the dog, and Hakim to catch the sun setting over the farmlands.
-
One of my evening delights was playing with Jenna, Hakim’s daughter, we colored and put on hats and glasses taking photos and videos. Such a delight this little one is… she shines brightly.
-
If yesterday was a day of rest, than today was on the side of play and creativity. -
Such an important part of our journey… we are creative beings of love and Light. We came here to manifest great moments with one another… to connect heart to heart… to assist when possible in compassion and empathy. -
Let us feed our souls today with that which is needed. Let us come into our Light more and more… through the fear and doubts into the… knowing that we came here to create great Love and Light.
-
Be thy Light…

I will live my life the way I choose.
Can you look yourself in the mirror and be happy with what you accomplished, invested in, spoke of, gave time to, today?

University of Pennsylvania teaching assistant Stephanie McKellop said Monday that she "always" calls on black women students first and white men last. "I will always call on my black women students first," McKellop wrote on Twitter. "Other POC [people of color] get second tier priority. WW [White women] come next. And, if I have to, white men." "I was taught that ^ as an undergrad by an amazing prof," she said in a follow-up tweet. "In normal life, who has the easiest time speaking, most opportunities? Flip it." ......... "Social justice" at work. Why do so many universities hire racist teachers like this? Let's let @UofPenn know #StephanieMcKellop needs to go. __________________________________
