Summit Selfie in Ontario Peak.
The mountains were calling and after a failed attempt to hike and summit at night and set up camp under the full moon light Monday night thanks to my paranoia, we returned the following morningish to finished what we started plus I had to get a picture with new summit sign and I needed the exercise.
I set up the timer on my phone to get that summit selfie shot but Tecate wasn't cooperating. So this was the best capture, me giving him that look. Yes, maybe he was hot and tired. Yes maybe that rock was uncomfortable to sit & balance on... But the sign, the views, The Gram. I felt bad right after our summit selfie bursted shots and apologized, After all it wasn't his fault I received and annoying text as soon as I got service at the summit and its not his fault that sometimes I can also suffer from a mild case of egotistic bitch. #doitforthegram
The shrooms we're weak sauce, the bad vibes from more than 3 hikers had me second guessing and even thought about going back more than once. Like yes Tec has short legs and yes we had clear skies but Tec i's a great little hiking dog it's not that hot & no it's not too late to be going up Ontario. I know the trail, have a headlamp and my companion is an over protective mutt who will warn me right away if he senses danger.
If it wasnt for those three little blue birds at the saddle I probably would've hiked back down just to make it down before sunset. Literally, three little birds told me everything was gonna be alright to keep going, lol. I saw about 4 more blue birds along the remaining 2.8 miles to the summit. I even spotted my first baby blue bird flying from tree to tree with blue bird mama always staying close. My heart melted, It was magical! #travelersomm
