At the shelter, 9 year old Jax was 'just another lonely face' looking out from behind bars to passersby. He was an animal ID#, sadly, like so many public shelters dogs become due to the overwhelmingly high number of homeless dogs. Jax waited for five months behind bars hoping visitors would take the time to get to know him. Because if they did, every single person would have met the most loving and easygoing companion dog around. Jax is intuitive, kind, and really just the all around perfect family pet. The family who adopted Jax last month is incredibly inspiring. And we hope more people will take their lead and get to know a shelter dog before ruling adoption out! Adopt, don't shop!
Jax's new mom Dionne wrote, "We are head over heels in love with Jax. He fits in perfectly with our family. He's able to play all day with his younger canine sister Cali, and come in and relax with his older canine sister Sadie. Both of our sons love him dearly and can be found snuggling with him often. He's a Momma's boy and follows me everywhere. My husband loves him and really enjoys finally having a male pup.
Our youngest dog, Cali, is boxer/pit and has a ton of energy. Jax gives off such a secure vibe and knows when to be high energy and run around the yard with her, and when to simply ignore her so she will calm down. I can't say it enough, Jax is extremely intuitive. Our oldest dog, a mix named Sadie, is in the stage of her life where she's just really mellow. Jax picks up on the vibe she gives and is completely calm all of the time around her. He knows just what to do and when to do it.
I would describe Jax as a big teddy bear. He can be found laying with our kiddos on the rugs in their rooms, playing tug-o-war with Cali in the backyard, riding shotgun in the truck while I pick up the kids from school, or in the garage sitting down while my husband tinkers with dirt bikes. He is just the sweetest, most loving, and incredibly intuitive dog and we are happy to call him part of our family. We look forward to being able to love him for years to come." ❤️️ #seniordog #adopted #familydog #happydog #gooddog #pitbull #adoptdontshop #adoptdontbreed #adoptanocompres
