Porsche 911 GT3 RS (991.2) (2018-2019)
The latest evolution of the GT3 RS comes as the ultimate naturally-aspirated 911. Packing a 4.0lt naturally-aspirated flat-six, this 911's engine is a lot like the 911 Cup race car’s unit.
Porsche threw everything at the GT3 RS in an effort to save weight and add strength. Every little detail leads to small improvements in performance and handling.
There's an old saying that still rings true today "Power is wonderful, lightness is even better". And in the form of the GT3 RS, Porsche have come up with possibly the best driver’s car currently on sale anywhere.
There are only two foot pedals, what with a twin-clutch PDK gearbox coming as standard. The flat-six pushes out 508hp and can demolish the 0-60mph in 3.4sec and onto a top speed of north of 200mph
Handling in the GT3 RS is extraordinary. The universally-jointed suspension feeds road feel back to the steering wheel keeping the driver in tune with all that's happening underneath. It's balance is terrific, even if it is a little sharp. If you unsettle the rear end in corners you can balance the car up with power, so quick is the engine response.
All of this is why this GT3 RS is only a few seconds slower than the twin-turbo charged GT 2RS around the Nurburgring Nordschleife despite having almost 200hp less.
Of all the (991 series ) Porsche 911's to date,
there was 991 1st generation GT3 and GT3 RS, then 991 2nd generation GT3, then turbocharged GT2 RS, and now GT3 RS.
Giddy up horsey 😀
