Went to St. Louis today to take mom to the doctor, all is well and we tried a new (to us) place to eat... #MissionTacoJoint and it was pretty good!! I had a #ducktaco #carneasadataco and a #portabellataco ...I ate the tortilla with the duck one and just ate the insides of the other two AND drank water so I did pretty well on calories when eating out. I loved them all, super tasty!!

Wow, these were tasty and easy to make! Plus, that tahini sauce was unreal 😍!Recipe posted on my FB page. A study recently revealed that late-night snacking can actually be pretty harmful to us. Not only is it linked to weight gain, more importantly, it can also negatively affect our memory, sleeping patterns, and increase our risk of heart disease and heart attack. Funnily enough, late-night snacking can also make us hungrier the following day!

Now, while I don’t think the occasional 10 pm biscuit will undo everything healthy I’ve done during the week, I do try my best not to eat after I’ve finished my last meal. Sometimes it’s easy, but more often than not, I struggle with it. Over the last year or so, I’ve come up with a game plan for preventing late-night snacking urges. I have my virtual fitness group to thank for allll the motivation - posting their workouts, their super food shakes, the healthy recipes, the ups/downs/ins/outs on a daily basis. Because of them i got up and got my 💩 together this morning! We are new every morning and I’m so thankful for that fresh start and the constant reminders.⁣⁣⠀

To be honest i still have not figured out what works best for my body. I know that restriction does not because i end up binging. I have been eating more ‘freely’ (aka more junk food) and my body is now telling me ENOUGH. I am feeling very sluggish, very tired, and my energy levels are really low. But i am not giving up, i only have this one and i will take care of it. I want to feel good, energized, and happy. I still don’t quite know how the 80/20 diet works but i will read more about it and give a try. I am also going to be more active because thats what i want and love to do. The 80/20 rule by Richard Koch.. Definitely a groundbreaking book going against the stereotypical assumptions that the amount of all the inputs leads to the amount of all the outputs💡


When in many cases, only 20% of inputs can be connected to 80% of outputs. 💪🏽


Furthermore, this isn’t just a statement. It has been proven and exemplified on many real life situations. 👑


This concept is useful not only in business, but also in our daily lives. 🙏🏽


Try to think about what kind of inputs you put into your work or your relationships actually creates the majority of outputs. Then focus on it‼️💯

80/20 RULE

I just came across this old post from @thefashionfitnessfoodie displaying the 80/20 rule. This is a rule I use with most of my clients. It basically says 80% of the time you have to be making good food choices: lowly processed, nutrient dense foods. The rest of the time you can have a little fun (don't go crazy).

There are definitely a few people out there who can count calories for a long period of time. However, (I feel) for most people that is NOT a sustainable long term strategy. •••
The 80/20 rule is easy to remember and can be employed any time you're about to make a food choice. This is the type of long term strategy should use if you're trying to make sustainable change without uprooting your whole life.

80% of all your meals should be CLEAN. Stay away from processed foods, and focus on eating those whole clean foods. ✅

20% of the rest of your meals can be whatever you like. Not that you have to eat at least 20% garbage, but you have the flexibility to. This allows you to not be so rigid with your diet and to eat stuff when “life happens” 🤷🏻‍♂️
