Day 1.....Lunch.....😋

It was my best friends birthday yesterday and I ended up going off plan and eating cake and some late night snacks
.
I told myself I wasn’t going to cheat but the cake looked so good...so it happened 🤦🏻‍♀️
.
This was not a good excuse to cheat and after only 4 days of being back on track it really shouldn’t have happened, but I want this to be a lifestyle and I want to be able to live!
.
Moving past last night I’m getting right back to keto, fasted all day, did a double workout (5K run and legs) and had a perfectly keto #omad dinner 🥑
.
Moral of the story: if you’re going to cheat, get right back on track the next day. Don’t let it turn into cheat days/weeks 🙅🏻‍♀️

On another note, I cut another 12 sec off my 5K time!

this is the only picture I have of me during my trip to England. I was hiding and I hate it. (part of the no pictures was accidental - boyfriend and I aren’t selfie people but we usually take a few). I don’t own a scale and had convinced myself that I’ve gained weight - but I haven’t gained a pound. I just feel uncomfortable in my body and it sucks. I love this picture for so many reasons. ❤️ As I was here walking around with the kids with all the activities going on and going in the pool, something hit me today. .
I used to be a SIDELINE mom. .
I used to watch my kids do all these fun activities and would watch my hubby with the kids in the pool while I sat watching them. OR I would run into the water before I felt like anyone could see me. .
Body image is a real thing and I’ve lived it all my life. We as women are seriously our worst critics and it’s got to STOP!

We are ALL beautiful, every single one of us. We ALL have different bodies and we ALL struggle with different areas in our life. But ONE thing we all have in common, is that God made us ALL BEAUTIFUL!❤️

This is a constant battle I still deal with, but the difference where I am right now is I’m learning to LOVE my Body for where I am RIGHT NOW! .
Do I have cellulite...hell yeah!
Do I have stretch marks...hell yeah!
Do I still struggle on a daily...hell yeah!
Did I start picking this picture apart..hell yeah!

BUT now...I REFUSE to be that sideline mom missing out on my kids lives and making memories! Life is to short to worry about others think!!! .

Hello everyone! Whether you found this page on purpose or stumbled across this by accident....WELCOME! For those of you that know me, you are most likely aware of how passionate I am about health and fitness AND how equally passionate I am about sweet treats and wine! A few years ago, I embarked on my own personal fitness journey, in a way that worked out best for me and fit into my life as a grad student in a new city. I worked my butt off, struggled, and succeeded in more than one aspect of my life. I have since graduated with a Master's degree, moved back to my home state of Alaska (shoutout to my fellow Alaskans!!!), married the love of my life, and started to create a life in a new city. .

I have a full-time job, but I have a passion for health and fitness - sharing my journey and working to inspire others to start their own. That's what lead me to this new and exciting opportunity. I want to share my passion, support others, and help to financially support my new family. .

Full disclosure: This is terrifying! I would consider myself a situationally-social and outgoing person, but I do not have a strong social media presence. But, in order to grow and pursue my goals and passions, I have to push myself out of my comfort zone. This is me doing just that! What I hope to do is inspire people to start their own journey to become their healthiest and happiest self. I am not an expert, and I will at no point pretend to be! However, I am an expert on my own journey, successes and failures, and I am happy to share these with you - and I will! I am going to put myself out there and hope that my story will resonate with some of you. .

Ok, it kinda does, but maybe not in the way you think. To lose weight you have to eat fewer CALORIES, but that doesn’t necessarily mean less FOOD🤯

If you’re wondering what that looks like, check out the graphic.

The food on the left totals 2000 calories (1997 to be precise.)
-
Now peek across the line to the food on the right.
-
Only 1700 (1680 to be exact) calories for all of that. Woah.
-
Big difference in volume, even though calories are lower by 300. Can you see how that works for fat loss?
-
Less calories, more volume= sustainable calorie deficit. And that, my friend equals success.
Here are a few tips to do this with your meals:
-
👉Minimize liquid calories.
👉Minimize fried foods
👉Be careful with portion sizes, especially those of high calorie items (peanut butter is a good example)
👉Focus on whole, nutrient dense foods
👉Cook at home more often
👉Lots of high volume foods (non starchy vegetables, water-filled fruit such as strawberries & watermelon, lean proteins such as Greek yogurt & tuna, and my personal fave- air popped popcorn are a few examples. Lots more further down my feed.)
👉Low calorie/no calorie dressings

I’m not a fan of using the term “cheat meal” because of the negative connotation that it represents. my friends & I have been waiting months to go to this pizzeria & let me tell you I enjoyed every damn bite! the best part is that I had not one ounce of guilt after! I’ve noticed that when I restrict myself from foods like this I will spiral out of control & binge eat. I eat healthy MOST of the time so that if my friends want to go out & and have a “fun meal”, I can go & enjoy every savory bite!

Let’s talk post-holiday “weight gain”. Prior to my holiday I was about 10 stone 2 lbs on these scales. On holiday it was safe to say I enjoyed myself 🍕🥪🍔🍟🥐🥖🍩🍹🍷 and any definition that I had on my stomach slowly disappeared 😂. So decided to experiment and weigh immediately when I got home which was the top box, half way through the week and then today! So if you can see I haven’t truly put a stone on but about 1-2lbs which would be more accurate and fit with what I have eaten! All I have done since getting back is have my 3 sensible meals and snacked on fruit if hungry (I even had a steak sandwich and fries mid week at a meeting 👍🏻) If I was at a slimming group and got weighed before and after it would have said I’d have lost nearly 14lbs which is simply not true, nor healthy! Ok so the truth is I’ve lost 7lbs since Monday 😊. BUT I’m not treating Monday as an official weigh in as I was alll bloat after my week off the week before. So happily I’m 0.5lbs down from my lowest. This is my new starting point and I want to loose a stone from here before Xmas•
