525lb/238kg to seal my 1,200 total at 163lb bodyweight! I may not be the strongest female in the sport, let alone my own weight class but I have a lot of heart and passion for powerlifting and I'm just getting started. 👉Thank you @lauraphelpssweatt and Shane @sweattshopcincinnati for putting on an amazing meet this past weekend. I had the most fun I've ever had at any meet I've ever been to. I met so many people and strong ladies and I'm super honored to have shared the platform with them all! 👉Thank you to my coach @gogginsforce for all your help through this meet prep, I know I'm a maniac sometimes and you keep my head on straight. We have some work to do but I'm very excited for my future! 👉Thank you @mfswede and @uncommonbritt and @ironmaigen for helping me all day! I came to this meet alone with no handler so it meant a lot to have Swede there to handle me when my coach couldn't make it. Went 8/9, didn't get more injured and PR'd my squat, deadlift and total for competition. Oh deadlift how I missed you.. I think. I'll make that call tomorrow haha. Top set at 510x4. Felt awful, looked awful but what ever. 😐. Then drop sets at 3 x 5 at 425. Also felt and looked like 💩 😅 second set shown here, oddly 3rd set was the best. Need to get back in a groove and hit it hard in the gym again. The last few weeks including this week have been a little blah. Such is life but hit the reps I needed for today's workout so good enough for a down day. #silverlinings

Things I'm working on:

1. Slightly wider grip. This, with my improved arch and shoulder mobility, will hopefully start paying itself off.
2. Maintaining an arch through my sets. This means keeping tight as I'm pressing. There's little things I tend to miss mentally such as relaxing my grip at the bottom of the press, keeping my glutes tight while pressing into the floor, and maintaining my breath from start to finish

When I start playing with heavier loads again closer to nationals, these little things will pay themselves off

Such an up and down week. Squats were right in the middle of what I wanted so overall good, bench was great.. And now today, my specialty (pr at least used to be...).. My deadlift is a complete disaster. Here is me barely lifting 485lbs then failing my planned max of 510lbs. No footage of what happened after but on my first double at 75% (385lbs)..i went the closest I've ever come to passing out in the gym. I fell down after the rep after losing control of the left side of my body but I stayed conscious at least. I had to take 10 minutes before my next set but I still finished the rest of my workout.
