Week 6 done = "treatment chapter" done. To say I'm relieved is an understatement. Chemoradiation has been 6 weeks, but my whole treatment has spanned 6 months. In the grand scheme of cancer that is nothing compared to some, but it has felt like a lifetime. Chemorad has been the toughest of all. It's relentless and has tested me physically and emotionally. Especially with brachytherapy this week, the most painful thing I've ever experienced...my fellow brachy ladies I salute you!
The other day a friend said to me "you have climbed to the top of this mountain"...she was right and today I stuck a bloody flag in it! 🌄⛰🚩 Onwards to the next mountain...the one where I start to rebuild myself and regain a bit of "me". Here's to kicking these side effects to the curb (please), to getting to grips with what it means to be menopausal at 30, and to loving life more than these past 6 months have allowed at times...whilst continuing to raise awareness for cervical cancer of course!
