Getting down and dirty with some iron⚔️ Let me take you back a year. This time last year. I barely free weight squat. I had just found out what a deadlift was and I could bench, but I was under the impression I was doing it correctly when in fact I wasn't. I believed bringing the bar down about a fist width above the chest was full range of motion boy was I wrong.
Today, I have decent knowledge of the field of play. I know what I'm doing (kinda😉) and I take compound lifts and strength training very seriously.
Start of the year 2017:
Bench: 100kg 1 rep max (correct form)
Squat: 120kg 1 rep max (iffy form)
Deadlift: 160kg max sumo (iffy form)
Bench: 100kg 5x5 (correct form)
Squat: 120kg 1x3 (correct form)
Deadlift: 160kg 5x5 conventional (correct form)
I'm so pleased with the progress being made and it's all because of the knowledge I've gained since last year knowing how to lift correctly and knowing what to do to gain strength. Also bettering my knowledge outside of the gym i.e my diet, foods, caloric surplus/deficit, sleep and caffeine😂😅 This game is all about knowledge and guidance. Which you can learn on Saturday when mine and @sam.wright___ Training programmes drop🔥(cheeky advertisement😂) seriously though. It will help!
