Another day, another hike and more hiking shenanigans 😜
Hike #18 was to Mt. Baden-Powell for the third time because I can't get enough of this one! One of my favorite of the advanced hikes, worth the 2 hr drive one-way.
And what a treat this weekend! 🤗 Running season started so I did my 3 mi on Sat and this hike on Sun with my favs- BTR crew! Great day as always with Vera, Saeed, and Jacob! We missed Lynn and Dina, so ladies, on the next one for sure, ok?! If you go:
Pls check out Hike #8 June 9th and hike #7 may 16th for more complete info
Distance: ~9 mi
Elevation: Welp, for most of us 9,399' but for our friend Saeed here, he left us behind and climbed to 9,400', as you can see in the pic 😂 and yes I completely encourage the silliness and am happy to be part of it every chance I get!
Gain: ~ 2,900'
Duration: Most will complete in 4-6 hrs
Difficulty: Out & back, moderate because of elevation. I initially labeled this one strenuous but after climbing some of the other beasts which are truly strenuous, this one is more like moderate!
Unfortunately the sign is no longer there ! Why would anyone take the sign? If you took it, please return it! 😬 Half the fun of climbing to summit is to eat, the other half is to take a pic with the sign!! Seriously who does that?
I must mention my initial plan was to climb another beast, Mt San Jacinto from the tram, however due the all the fires- one still burning in that very area but thankfully 96% contained, our air quality is quite poor in some areas for some time now. I did not want to risk my health. I want be safe, especially given my snail-pace 🐌🐢. I want to enjoy the torturous journey that San Jacinto is and I know is lovingly waiting for when I am ready 💖
