Meet the Maniac (@tlind): After being diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure, Tara stood at 5’3” and weighed 286 lbs. She knew she needed to make a change so Tara signed up for Rugged Maniac and began walking every day. Tara ran her first Rugged Maniac in 2015. She finished the course, but not every obstacle. With a change in her diet, gastric bypass, and exercise, those walks turned into runs and with blood, sweat and tears, she lost over 150 lbs! In 2016, Tara ran her second Rugged Maniac, and conquered the obstacles that beat her the year before. She created a running group, and completed her first marathon! She continues to improve her health and hopes to inspire others to do the same!
