“After shooting non-stop deep in the Nepali jungle, I was spent but decided to bring my camera along as I roamed the streets. An hour or so went by without occasion when suddenly, a group of Buddhist devotees arrived. Drums started banging as they chanted prayers in unison. The sun started to set, and a large cauldron of incense was lit. It happened so fast that I only managed to get this shot of the sun and incense blessing one of the devotees on that fateful day.” Most photographers shy away from genres that scare them but Karan Gurnani, @whazzhizname on Instagram, choses to face it head on.
Shot on the EOS 5D Mark IV, ISO 200, f2.0, 1/2000.
