Kitchen window views....
I'm still stuck indoors painting, sanding and decorating my butt off - but at least I can look out of my new kitchen window and see this.
My hubby can't understand why I planted this Buddleia right next to our driveway...
you have to fight and duck your way past it when you walk past the car up the drive...
but it's a magnet for bees, butterflies and a whole plethora of flying creatures in the summer - and I love how it's magenta flowers, on long branches, gracefully arch over the drive....
Plus I get to console myself that even though I can't get outside as much as I want to right now, I can watch all the buzzing activity from my kitchen sink.
If you love nature and bees as much as me, which I know most of you do - you must check out @lydianeedle and her wonderful "Fifty Bees The Interconnectedness of All Things" project.
It is an amazing collaboration between her and 50 other artist and is currently exhibiting @acearts_somerton in Somerset.
If you can't get to the exhibit you can admire the fabulous needle felted bees she has created in the booklet, (see last 2 pics) like I have been (excuse my jeans - painting attire, not a new fashion! 😳) 🐝
I'm also really excited because one of these little bees, along with its companion artwork - a breathtakingly beautiful linocut by @callyconwayprints - will be winging their way over to my house at the end of the month.... just in time for me to finish decorating and start enjoying!
