Hello 👋🏼 everyone,
We seem to have lots of new people come to join us over the last few so I wanted to say a big, warm hello to you all - you are most welcome - please do introduce yourself: * where are you in the world? * And what prompted you follow ‘FIFTY BEES: the Interconnectedness of All Things’?
For those of you that are new here, perhaps I should explain what the project is all about.
The idea is to help raise awareness of the diversity of our Beautiful British Bees, through art and research.
The project was the brainchild of @lydianeedle, a somerset based artist. In 2017 she created just fifty of the 270 British Bees using #needlefelt, #embroidery and #vintage containers.
She then invited another 50 to each create a piece of art in response to the #ecology and habitats of their #bees.
These first 100 works were shown in #Somerset at @acearts in a wonderful collaborative art exhibition.
It was so successful, that it was decided to carry on, so another fifty bees were made.
Another fifty artists were invited to make another 50 companion artworks. And all of these are exhibited at the @richardjefferiesmuseum Museum in Swindon until the 24th June.
99 of the 100 artworks are for sale so do get in touch if you’re interested in supporting our artists and our bees.
