Team Profile: Greg Huppatz
I first met Allan Jefferson when he was employed as a Casual Crewman for the then EMQ Helicopter Rescue back in 2007.
When the Department changed structure, I became the Base Manager of QGAir Helicopter Rescue and ended up employing Allan on a Fulltime Permanent basis – what was I thinking….
Seriously though, throughout the years, Allan has always been an absolute professional Rescue Crew Officer but still always up for a laugh.
After Al completed RAAM in 2016 as a four person team member, he approached me to see if I would be interested in being his Crew Chief in 2019 – I agreed on the proviso that in 2018, we would go to USA on a ‘recon’ trip with NO FUN allowed – strictly business…..an amazing trip that highlighted the magnitude of coordinating the behind the scenes effort required to successfully complete RAAM.
I am looking forward to the challenges ahead…I know there will be many, as well as working with the rest of TEAM JEFFERSON to help Al achieve success both on his bike as well as supporting the team’s fundraising efforts for his chosen charity – BeyondBlue - to continue their support of the mental health needs of our front line emergency services workers.
