Maya Angelou used to have a radio show. I would wait anxiously to get to hear her words of wisdom.
My favorite episode was about words. “We wear the words we use like our clothing and we drape them on our walls. Everyone who sees us sees the words we use.”
It changed how I use language and reminded me that, yes, when I see people who have said mean things to me, I see and feel the words all over again. Words are not something you can sponge away or take back. They live eternal.
So when Apostle Paul tells the Colossians to clothe themselves in Love, I know exactly what he means. You can’t simply go around preaching hate and fear and simultaneously pretend to be a minister of Love.
We are the carriers of the Love Torch 🔥. We have to Live it to carry it forward, especially in our actions and words.
