Step #43 of a handmade jewelry piece: depletion-gilded sterling silver rings. I spent hours and hours of work on these babies. Now they sit out from the pickle showing a top layer of fine (white) silver and depleted copper surface. Still a few hours left to file, tumble, file again, add patina, set the stones and then a final high sheen polish. Handmade means made by actual hands. It's hours and hours of hard work and hours and hours of built up experience by trial and error. These beauties are solid, hefty and made to last. Made with genuine turquoise and variscite and hand-picked (by me!) beach stones from the Okanagan beach shores. Hand sawed ring shanks that are hand-stamped and texturized by hand. Love, inspiration and hard work. All in a few pieces of jewelry. My heart is accomplished and feeling happy.
I'll be posting these "To the beach" turquoise rings to my website on Monday at 12 noon MST. Sizes 9.5, 8.5, 7.5 and 6.5.
