Just a month after its restoration, a Miura P400 has won its class at the UK’s event “Salon Privé Concours d'Elégance” that takes place annually in the grounds of Britain’s Blenheim Palace.
The model, chassis #3165, is owned by Gian Paolo Dallara, one of the “fathers” of the Miura, along with Paolo Stanzani and designer Marcello Gandini. He was technical director of Lamborghini from 1963 to 1969 and acquired the winning Miura as an 80th birthday present to himself in 2015. Lamborghini Polo Storico was commissioned to complete a full restoration of the white car with black interior. After 14 months and nearly 3,000 hours’ work, the car was presented to Dallara in July this year.
The Miura was announced best in class of the “Evolution of the supercar pin-ups” category, in the Salon Privé Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance including seven classes with over 60 classic car entries, stealing first place from eight competing cars, which included a 1967 Ford GT40 MKIII and the iconic pin-up, a Lamborghini Countach.
The Polo Storico guarantees the preservation and the integrity of Lamborghini's history and its vehicles, over 9,300 specimens from the first forty years.
