I’m inviting you to join me on a 30 day quest to get more sleep. THE MAMA IMARA 30 DAY SLEEP CHALLENGE
This challenge is simple; Get 7+ hours of sleep for the next 30 days. If you do that, you’ll have (at least) 210 total hours of sleep. That should be your target.
Research suggests that 7.5 hours is the minimum amount required to repay your sleep debt. Since we sleep in 90 minute sleep cycles, 7.5 hours may be more restful than 8.
The more cycles you can get in every night will leave you feeling significantly more rested.
I realize some of us (let me speak for myself 🙊) will need to take some baby steps. We are talking about years of habitual sleep deprivation, so I will work my way up. In the first one week, the goal is to be in bed before 1am, but still meet 7 hours of sleep.
In the second week, I will shoot for midnight as my limit and in my third week, I will be in bed by 11pm.
By week 4, the goal is that we will be sleeping before 11pm. I aspire to be in bed by 10:30pm, asleep by 10:45pm....and do for another 2 months. By the end of the year, we should all have reversed some habits and regenerated in mind, body and spirit.
Are you ready? You can do this! Let's do this. I'll post regularly on the FB Detox page and IG to report my progress. If I miss a day, I have to start all over. We begin, July 15th, 2017, for 3 weeks. In the following 3 weeks we will upgrade to sleeping by 10:45pm and getting restful 7-8 hours of sleep. Imagine that! I have serious sleep issues but I'm committed to 3 months of this challenge because all my crazy dreams depend on my ability to commit to this and I know, the alternative is slowing me down, so whatever it takes to sleep better, I shall do it. 🙏🏾. Bring it! 🔥☄️💥💫⛈💨🌪🌫. I'm ready. Who else is ready? Lol? I think it will be fun and awesome to do it now, because it's harder now, during the summer. 😜Sleeplessness has served me in my creative life. Greatest ideas come after 3am. 🙊. I'm gonna have to rely on daytime creativity. 👍🏾. I won't take this challenges for granted.
