It took 8 years as a Seattleite, but I finally rode the @seattleducks this week. & the best part was doing it to celebrate these cool cats 😻. (or ducks πŸ₯) I am thankful for friends who love to celebrate each other. #onaduck #seattle #2daysinseattle

Only a few more days left of #infinitekusama at the @seattleartmuseum! There are only same-day tickets remaining, which means you should probably give up your dreams of getting after-hours access like @ciara and @dangerusswilson and get in line well before 10 am to snag some πŸ’#seattleartmuseum #kusamayayoi

Kayaked to Doe Bay!

This morning on Orcas. The smoke is making for some beautiful hazy skies πŸŒ…

Outdoor {hot!} shower as the sun sets after the last two days was πŸ‘ŒToday I spent 13 hours in line for ferries, on the ferry, and trying to get my computer fixed, all while sick. Bad news: my computer is screwed and the hard drive needs replacing and I'll be without it until Friday. Good news: They recovered my data and I'm on Orcas island without a computer until Friday. β›΄πŸŒ²πŸŒ…

My friend, colleague and mentor invited me to her amazing home on Orcas Island for the week for some rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation and for some space and time to heal and deal with all of my grief. I'm also supposed to be working this week from the house. The house is gorgeous and huge and sits atop 10 acres of beachfront property. It's unreal. However, my computer decided to call it quits this morning, and apple cannot help me and I have to go back to the mainland to get it fixed. Easy enough, however, 2/5 ferries on the Anacortes-Orcas route are down and they are not accepting reservations. So, I have to get up at an ungodly hour and wait in line to try and get on standby. I've had two hours of sleep, and now I have some stomach bug. Today has been a dumpster fire of almost comical proportions. So I'm throwing in the towel for today and am focusing on some r&r with a book in a hammock in my own little private oasis. Being here is such a privilege, so I am going to try and enjoy it as much as possible. It's always something! Just gotta roll with the punches πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

184/365 - So, as some of you may have noticed, the family took a quick jaunt down to Seattle last week for a bit of a mini vacation. We totally played up the tourist card there, heading down to @pikeplacepublicmarket , looking up at the @spaceneedle , and then riding a duck and meeting this colorful character.
He goes by Wade Forritt and he's #onaduck with @seattleducks . And get this, he's a theater major who managed to get a job. That's even rarer than spotting Bigfoot! Not to mention how we drove a WWII-styled truck straight into Lake Union. That's certainly something.
Anyways, I vlogged (almost) the whole thing, including our time over at the beautiful @woodlandparkzoo where Addie got up close and personal with some river otters. Link to the YouTube video is in the IG bio as usual. Give it a like and a subscribe if you haven't already done so?
You stay weird, Seattle. Just the way we love you.

179/365 - Because dads don't babysit. It's called parenting.

UPDATE: The Seattle vlog is now up. Link in the bio.
