So remember earlier in the week when I said stay tuned later in the week for something crazy? Well crazy happened today - officially signed up for #26point2

It’s on my bucket list to finish a marathon and why not do it in the happiest place on earth, right? After almost two hours trying to register, countless website errors, and two registrations charged to my card (hoping for a quick reversal on one) I’m all signed up. Who knew the registration process was a marathon in itself🤷🏻‍♀️ Now the real big question...what training program to follow for a first timer? If you have any tips, recommendations, suggestions I’m listening! #rundisney

Pretty excited about how these turned out! I’m running the Chicago Marathon with Team in Training team Out For Blood this year to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! If anyone would like a pair of their own custom shoes please let me know. All I ask is a minimum of $23/pair! That covers the shoe, shipping, and a small donation to LLS!

I will never be able to run an 8min mile marathon. That’s a fact and I accept that. 😜😁However, that’s not gonna stop me from getting faster! Like @des_linden says, I will #justkeepshowingup and be patient, the result will come eventually!🙌💪🏃🏽‍♀️BTW, if you haven’t heard @richroll and @michaelgervais ‘s interview of @des_linden , please do! So inspiring and love the interview style of Rich and Dr. Gervais! 👍👍

#confessions time! Well, not a very juicy one but we still wanted to share.

Wayyy back in our college days we both ran the Boston Marathon! A fact we are still proud of today (I mean there are ALOT of hills)! .
I ran it while Suz was away and when she heard about it she wanted to do it too. I told her I would run it with her the following year and guide her thru training...you know, because I had the one under my belt😂.
.
Well turns out my heart, or should I say my head, really wasn't in it that 2nd time around. It is true that I abandoned her on the first long run of our training. BUT she forged ahead solo, completing her 1st of 2 marathons like the champ that she is 👏.
.
I failed her yet again when I brought her old sneakers with me to watch in case her new pair were bothering her...but...since I stood in an area to watch her cross the finish line this helpful gesture came a little too late😔...but hey...it's the thought that counts, right?!? .
Lessons to be learned here are - don't buy new sneakers two days before a marathon and - dont rely on me to train you for said marathon😘

Well that tempo run didn’t quite go as planned!🙅🏻‍♀️The heat was getting to me and I was just tired I guess. Stopped for water at one point, not sure why I didn’t bring any with me.🤔But, oh well, they can’t all be great runs!

Happy Track Thursday (for me at least)!! First speed sesh in awhile so I decided to start small.

If I’m being completely honest I was hoping for my mile to be faster. I have had faster mile times in other training runs but I’m trying to be fair to myself. Coming back from a slight neck injury, I haven’t been training for anything specifically, plus if I ran my next 5k at a 7:30 pace I would PR, I’ll take it as a win! It’s just that little voice inside saying I know I could have done better. Positive side...plenty of room for growth!!😁

Ran a short 2 miler today and it sucked!! To be fair, it’s technically my first hot summer run (Not counting the tri!) this year and I’m nowhere near acclimated.

The insides of my upper abs hurt during the first mile and I was taking it easy downhill too. Kinda felt like a heartburn but it almost immediately went away when I took a break. Was this from excessive breathing/lack of oxygen? Have you ever experienced this?

Coming back was an uphill and my sick mind decided to run it faster. I ran negative splits but I felt dizzy afterwards. Not smart. Don’t do what I did!! Lol.

Good Thursday Afternoon Athletes👍🏼! It’s definitely been a while since I have posted on my main account. I’m sorry I haven’t been here for you all. I have been making new plans and new goals for myself. I am focusing on myself and work. And you know what I finally feel like I am in a great place. With new goals I am excited to work on and eventually accomplish💫. As you may or may have not seen, I have been hitting the gym with strength training hard again. And also getting a small change in appearance. (I never knew a small change could go a long way.) I hope all of you have been great. And I am definitely glad to be back with you again. After a long work day yesterday, getting this run this morning was tough but pushed through it for a quality session. I'll admit a was a bit skeptical of this one but nailed my paces and felt great. Good to see the previous training paying off 🔥☀️🙌

Strength workout tonight outside on this lovely summer evening, but no running ☹️. Foot is all snuggly wrapped up in a special compression sock thing and I’ve got some fab insoles that are helping take the pressure off my arch. On the upside im getting super excited about my #triathlon. #3daystogo until I can call myself a #triathlete and put the little bike emoji next to the run and swim ones in my bio! #swimbikerun .
