Day 293: It's more than just push-ups... it's about this message reaching someone struggling with suicide or mental health in need of support and resources!

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255). This is a free resource that is available 24/7/365. Or text HELLO to 741-741 for the Crisis Text Line.

The 22 Push-up Challenge originated as a way to spread awareness that 22 combat veterans (on average) take their own lives each day.

A recent statistic has shown that the number has decreased slightly to 20 a day, but that is still too many!

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, reach out and ask for help. It could save a life!

THIS IS GONNA BE LONG BUT PLEASE READ!!! Every single day, 22 veterans commit suicide. That's 22 of the bravest men and women in the country taking their lives today, 22 tomorrow, and 22 the next. So this is the challenge that will HOPEFULLY be gaining some more popularity soon. You either do 22 push-ups, or squats, or really anything that's pretty tough for you. When I saw somebody else do the challenge, the number really astounded me, and I hope everyone else feels the same. By spreading awareness we can hopefully help everyone realize how big of a problem suicide is for veterans and really everybody. So if you want, also do the challenge, but if nothing else come away with some knowledge of what the situation is and reach out and just help or talk to a veteran or anybody who could be battling depression. Just spread some love to everyone, we're all here to help each other. #22vets #22pushups #22squats #22squatsfor22veterans @untamedstrength

Day 11 !! 4 mile morning run . And 22 pushups

I'll be doing 22 push-ups a day for 22 days to raise awareness for veteran suicide, 22 vets a day are committing suicide, it's tragic and we need to challenge ourselves to raise awareness. Join me and remember them.

If you know of someone who is in need of help, call 1-800-237-8255.

Today I nominate Michael Fabiano

The rules are simple: * Once you are nominated, your 22 days will commence the following day
* Every day you will report on your completion of 22 push-ups. Try your very best to reach 22. If that means doing assisted (from your knees) push-ups or that you have to stop and take a break that's fine but try to get them all done in one video * Every day nominate a different person, try to choose people you think will want to do this and/or have the ability to do it
* And finally, have fun with this. This is a simple and fun way to get the word out about a matter that more people need to be aware about.
These brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms only to get out and feel lost. It's sad that so many good veterans feel that suicide is the only way out so let's show our support!

Don't worry about being a burden when it comes to checking in on your brothers and sisters. Send a text, give them a call, give a hug. Let them know you're there. It's time we open our eyes and look for the signs. #22toomany #suicideawareness #ptsdawareness #22vets #ForRover

Day 425 of 22 for #22kill, in support of our nation's #veterans and #firstresponders. It's unacceptable that #22vets take their lives each day from conditions such as #ptsd, and I'm continuing this challenge to help raise #awareness so that our servicemembers and veterans can get the help they need. Their defense of our freedoms deserve our support to help them lead fulfilling lives as civilians.

Take time to let those people in your life who've served know that they are loved and appreciated. It could make all the difference in their day, and help them to win their battle. We can work together to let our veterans know that suicide is not the answer. #letscheckonafriend
