In baby's second and third months, be on the lookout for some amazing new skills like bringing hands 🖐🏼🤚🏼together at the chest (🤓child development nerd term: midline) and beginning to look down 👁toward the hands with eye and neck muscles. This is a great time to put lightweight, crinkly or rattly toys on baby's chest - like plastic links or fabric books or that yellow crinkle toy she doesn't realize she dropped 😂. Sidenote: she's playing on the kitchen table while I sip my coffee within arm's reach. Floortime ain't just for the floor, folks! (of course I'd never walk away from her or get sucked into the cellphone vortex with her up here). And yes, she's a SHE...spent her first 6 months in big brother's hand-me-downs 🙈.
