Jesus Calling - April 6
I really enjoyed today's devotional from Jesus Calling. It got me thinking about all the blessings I receive in life and all the little things that I take for granted, viewing things through a lens of negativity instead of embracing all the good things around me. As human beings our tendency is to want. We always want more. More more more. However, when we get more, we aren't necessarily always happy. Many times, the new shiny thing we wanted for so long loses its luster after we achieve it. I know I am guilty of this. I am only human after all. So after reading this today I asked myself a couple of questions and I wanted to share them with others:
1) Is there anything that I am taking for granted?
2) How can I learn to enjoy the blessings in my life instead of looking at the negatives? In essence, how can I stop coveting over another's belongings/life/etc, and water my own grass?
3) What things in my life need more attention and praise and thankfulness, and what and what can I let go of? - replacing negativity with positivity
4) How would I view life differently through eyes of Thanksgiving rather than always wanting more?
Just a little food for thought today!
