4 days post comp. And im back in #meetprep
First clip. 1x1 #squat at 485. So 3 things happened. Loss of t spine extension (bar rolled onto my traps and turned into high bar), weight got over my toes and knees caved. Not sure what caused what, but thats what @stanton_strength is for. Despite being a 20lb pr in sleeves, this weight felt very duable. My overall execution wasnt good enough, but im having a hard time being upset about it.

Clip 2. 3x5 #squats at 325. Right knee was a little pissed after the failure so went kinda light. My big focus on this set was speeding up the first half of my squat and slowing down the 2nd half (hitting the hole slower), something jordan has been on me about.

Clip 3. I feel like this is a big win. 1x1 #benchpress at 340. I feel like this moved like an opener. Funny things happen when you touch high like coach says. Thanks @meekshow for the lift off!

Clip 4. 2x5 #bench with 275, no leg drive.

Clip 5. 2x8 #slingshotbench with 275.

Clip 6. #floatingdeadlifts 3x3 with 405. Can we talk about my back? Ha ha. Im pretty happy about this.

#workout from today. And Confidence is back!
#benchpress at 330. Looking like an opener to me. Realized in my warm ups that a tight chest was causing nerve issues in my bicep down to my elbow. An issue i deal with fairly often. I highly suspect this is why i touched a little low on my last session. Thank you @sarahbrenner for helping me with it. A good deep tissue massage and i should be golden.
#squat 505 and moving like it should! This was honestly the best 500+ has felt. Warmed up with #bandedsquats (for whatever reason these help me "stay in my hips"). The next thing was opening up my chest. Tight chest also causes issues with my scapular depression. And if i cant get proper depression, the weight ends up on my toes at the bottom (like my last session). I also switches to thumbs around. Last thing was like @stanton_strength and @beeth_mode_ have both told me. Keep the weight on the outsides of my feet!

Sooo. Today was the first bad session on this peak. Was supposed to hit my openers and 2nd attempts. But things dis not go as planned. Trying to brush it off, but mentally kinda rough ending my peak on a bad note.
First clip. My planned squat opener of 515. Not horrible. But did not move as fast as i would like and a clear loss of glute tension in the hole.
2nd clip. 545 planned 2nd attempt. Lots of issues. Too wide of a stance, loss of glute tightness at the bottom.

3rd clip. Took another swing at 545. Walkout sucked. But i got a better foot position and kept my glutes alot tighter.
4th clip. 335 for planned opener. Also didnt move as fast as i would like.
5th clip. 355 for planned 2nd attempt. I could have got the bar back over my shoulders better. But it also just felt heavy af.
Overall. Walked in not feeling top of my game. Last several sessions i have felt 110%. This was not one of those sessions. Had a hard time getting in the right mind set aswell. Body is aching and ready for my deload. @stanton_strength

#workout from today.
First clip. #benchpress 315x4 paused. Big pr here as i have never hit this weight for more than a couple sets of doubles. Everything felt really good. Misgrooved the weight a little on rep the lowering portion of rep 1. And failed to get the bar over my shoulders early on rep 4. But still pretty solid in my opinion.

2nd clip. 550 #deadlift for my planned opener. Not much to say. Easy weight is easy weight.

3rd clip. 605 deadlift for my planned 2nd attempt. And a 5lb pr. Lost a little t spine extension (threw the weight forward a tad), hips shifted back and knees caved a little. Not sure which one of these 3 is the root issue. But pretty minor in my opinion.
4th clip. 1ct paused #conventionaldeadlifts 455x4. Huge pr here to. I think i have hit 455 for a couple doubles, with a "dog taking a shit" back position. And my all time best conventional is 485x2. I definitely lost spinal extension. Whether or not i went into flexion, i will let coach decide.

Workout from today. Hit a few pr's and cant complain!

#benchpress worked up to a new 5rm paused with 305. Honestly didnt feel that hard. Had at least one more in the tank. This is by far the best 300+ has felt in a while. The fact that i could still self unrack this is a massive confidence boost.
#squat pr 5rm with 470. Form went to trash after rep 2. But i think i figured out why the knee cave has been so bad. I used to do a 4 step walkout, so i unracked the bar with feet under hips, 2 steps back then a step to each side. In my attempt to minimize time under the bar, i have been doing a 2 step walkout. Get under the bar, set my stance then slide each foot back. Well in the process of sliding my feet back, i lose most of my toe flare. On my back down sets i did the same thing. But there wasnt enough weight on my back so as i pushed my knees out, my toes slid. @stanton_strength you have seen me do this before.

Ended with #rackpulls 1x5 with 455. Very pleased with these because of how much i struggle with keeping spinal extension.

#squat pr!! 545 for a single in first clip. 2nd clip is what should have been a double at 515. But like an idiot i didnt push into the wraps and get my knees all the way forward early. Been a while since i made this mistake. @stanton_strength i retract my statement about minimal knee valgus. But as you have said before, this wouldnt be a near max lift if i had perfect form. @__physical.impact__

Finally did it folks! #600lbdeadlift in the books. This felt to me like an aggressive 2nd attempt. But i will let @stanton_strength decide. A few minor technical issues i need to clean up. But at max weight, minor issues make a big difference. @__physical.impact__

Pre weight cut, I was weighing 223ish pounds, my heaviest. Today I got on the scale and weighed 209lbs. I’m down about 14lbs and I hit a PR on deadlift last week. You could say my cut is going well. 😏 #makingweight #198er

445x3 Morning BW: 197/98ish felt pretty easy. Next we're some deficit pulls, bench, & accessories. Really striving for a 1500 total by the end of the year...
