"Bishop College – 1969." Bishop College – one of the first colleges in Texas for black students – was founded in Marshall, Texas in 1882. The college moved to Dallas in 1961, becoming the first black college in Dallas. After several years of financial mismanagement, the historic school closed in 1988. Two years later, Paul Quinn College took over the property and continues to this day. See several cool photos from the 1969 Bishop College yearbook at FlashbackDallas.com (link in profile).
