Training's the time to get things wrong. It allows feedback from an experienced instructor, it lets you reset and do it again, it lets you see where the problems are likely to occur and how to avoid them. It is how you effectively prepare.
Earlier this year @americanmilsim invited me to help out with TCCC centered direct action missions. It utilized blank fire, airsoft and a world class AO (@guardiancenters) for scenarios designed to push teams and individuals out of their comfort zones so they could assess their training and teamwork gaps across a wide set of skills.
