The Big Dam Bridge 100 Mile Bike Tour was an extraordinary experience. I am glad to have finally gotten to participate in this home-state ride. Bumping into fellow Fanatic, @takeithachambers, at a gas station pre-ride was a perfect prelude to our adventurous day. Hours later, stopping for a quick and cooling snack (cherry creme slush) at Sonic turned into a full on lunch when a random stranger offered us her extra chicken sandwich and water she had purchased. Thank you Random Stranger! Little did we know that while we were enjoying our mid-day/mid-ride meal, the sag wagon had passed by us sweeping riders as he went. Yikes! We spent the remaining fifty miles trying to catch and stay ahead of him and his sweeper posse. They were great to have put up with our shenanigans. They referred to @tealclark and me as the Sonic Girls. We had so much fun! Bumping into fellow Fanatic & Maniac, Billy Huggins, at the Mile 75-ish aid station was another high point of our day. It was "all downhill" from there (so they said) giving us the chance to make up any lost time from earlier in the ride and successfully make every cutoff along the way.
