I honestly don't really eat like this everyday nor make these that often anymore for my sis... BUT. When I do, obv must goes on IG...^_^ Because obv, I am an awesome sister. Rigggght?! 😌😁😆😆😆😂 MUhaahaha...
Classic home style Korean food the way my nana use to make...although she would serve like 10+bunchans (aka side dishes). Right after Korean war, so many ppl were starving...& what moved me is when I went to see her&grandpa is that from people, I heard that this tiny lady never turned down anyone knocking at her door. She always had a way of making food last- and now that she is in her 70s, she still potters about, cooking& feeding ppl. She inspires me so much♥ I want to be just like her when I am older!! ♥♥♥
Growing up in a town in NZ where my sister&I were literally the1st Asian children in our primary school, I actually didn't eat that much classic Kfood often, ingredients were sparse or way too expensive. Mum was also liberal in the sense that she understood we wanted to take sandwiches to school like everyone else. She just did the best she could,to provide nutritious&healthy meals for her kids.
Funny how older I get, more comfortable I feel in my skin♥ Going back to meet grandpa before he died from cancer, first I had seen him in 20+yrs...It's made me appreciate part of who I am&my heritage knowing it includes a beautiful culture that strives for balance in simple things like home cooking. Some steamed multi grain (white&brown rice, lentils mix for complex carbs), vege for natural colours with splashes of nutty oils&some lean protein. People commonly confuse Kfood&culture as Chinese or Japanese- but once u get to know us, while ancient&tiny Korea was defi influenced by Asian superpowers(just like Tibet),we're a unique sibling on our own feet ;) What's ur story? Who inspires u to be a better person? Make sure u inspires someone else today with loving words&actions. You never know just who u might impact♥I know my nana still does, even though she's so far away♥
