Seasoned pollack roe stew 🐟🍲🍚🍴
You can buy seasoned pollack roe from Korean grocery stores. It's pretty salty, so as banchan you'd pick at it a little bit at a time with your chopsticks. You can also make this delicious stew with it!
1⃣ Make anchovy broth by boiling dried anchovies in water. Take out the anchovies.
2⃣ Add thin slices of Korean radish #무 to the broth, and cook for a couple of minutes.
3⃣ Add small pieces of napa cabbage (optional), thin slices of zucchini, small cubes of soft tofu, and slices of (or minced) garlic. If you want to make it spicy, add some #gochugaru, Korean hot pepper powder. Cook for a couple of more minutes.
4⃣ Reduce the heat to low, and add seasoned pollack roe (the whole sacks or cut into halves), slices of green onions, and a couple of slices of green/red chili peppers. Cook for a couple of minutes until the roe is almost cooked, but do not overcook it as the roe would become too firm. Add salt to taste, but the roe is pretty salty, so you may not need to add any more salt.
5⃣ Serve the stew with rice and other banchan items!
