New old fashioned breakfast.
It was a quiet day at the market, but still...busy or not, I always try to make myself some breakfast before the rush begins.
And for some strange reason I was craving Macanese pork chop buns 澳門豬扒包, the simple bun with a juicy grilled pork chop served at many cafes in Macau.
So off I went, scored a sweet piece of centre cut pork chop from Regina's, and then went to the bakery...only to find they don't have the traditional crusty roll.
But you know me, right? Make do with what you can find. Enter @wafflesandchix's waffle. Ten minutes later...a waffle pork chop "bun". 格仔餅豬扒包. A generous dash of spiced peach syrup, and bam...breakfast.
And yes, I devoured (most of) it...and it was surprisingly delicious, to say the least.
Oh, the weird things I eat when I am at work...it's astonishing, to say the least.
