Rimpa-cho Ikebana Belamcanda chinensis (blackberry lily) Chinese bellflower Maple
琳派調いけばな 檜扇(ヒオウギ) 桔梗 楓
For my lesson this week, I did a summer Rimpa-cho arrangement. The lily forms the framework of the arrangement showing off her interesting leaves. The maple is spread throughout to connect the three groups and give a harmonious feel. The bellflower acts as a point of interest and adds a cool refreshing feel to the overall work. Showing the surface of the water also helps to evoke a cool feeling. I hope this helps to cool you off in this hot summer.
