Vanamo Kide Korento Review.
Wrappee : 14months old, approx 8kg.
I was the 10th(?) person to try this beautiful wrap in #vanamoinjapan testing tour. So it was soft thanks to all the breaking in done !
First of all and most of all I was very much attracted to the delicate weave and the beautiful colour. I read somewhere that "kide" meant "ice crystals" and I felt the design really looked like crystals. Also the blue and mint made it blue that's not too bright for my Asian skin tones. I actually was astonished how well the colours blended in with my skin, it's the first time I felt a wrap really suited my skin tone. It's a surprise because mint never suits my yellow based skin.
Wrapping wise, it was the first time I used a wrap so wide and I had some difficulty handling all the fabric in my hand when tightening. However the width made a stable shoulder strap and with the supportiveness of linen, the double hammock carry did not dig in at all.
It felt grippy and I liked the grip best in Front Cross Carry. It was the most comfortable FCC I had done in a while.
Linen was very supportive but size 5 was too long for single layer carries that I like to do during the humid and hot Tokyo summer. (multilayer carries are just too hot!) Maybe when my toddler is bigger, I could appreciate the width more and with a shorter size I could have handled the heat better.
Small detail but I also really liked the flower middle marker 💓
