I found my old swimming suit pic and decided to post before and after😆
I never was over weighted more of a skinny-fat type:) As you can see (not mentioning I was 7 years younger 😅)my body is not lean at all, you can't see any definitions. One more thing I wanna point out is my body weight : on the left-before pic I'm 52kg and after ( right)is 60kg. Yap, I didn't mix the number , I gain 8kg.So as you can see weight is just a number:) I started CrossFit about 6 years ago I was 30 by that time. At first lifting my own body off the ground ( a simple push up)was an issue , so I kept going with a new hobby and workout at least 4 times a week.Little by little things started to get easier, I got my first pull-up in 3 month and moved to weights.I learn clean and jerk , snatch and Dead lift .I can't say I'm very strong now, but I definitely got stronger than before. I lift my double body weight off the ground( 120kg dead lift), clean and jerk body weight plus 2kg :) 62kg, snatch 48kg.For me fitness is an important part of my life I work out at leas 4-5 times a week. I feel stronger and basic daily tasks such a caring grocery or own child up the stairs is easy for me now.
I'm a mom and my daughter recently started lift weights with me . She is a very healthy active child .And I truly believe weight benefit her growth and athleticism.
To build a healthy body you must have a healthy diet as well. I don't have very strict rules, I eat a lot ( 3-5 time a day, depending on my activity level ), but very carefully with what I eat.No artificial sugar and no processed carbs ! A lot of veggies and meets , and good fat ( such as olive oil, avocado, nuts).Trying to balance my diet as much as I can.
Now I work as a coach and help other ppl to get healthier. A lot of my clients are women and they lift weights.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with women getting bigger with muscle and strength.
