Today I thought I would do something new! I wanted to share what I used as a teen, years before I joined the Asian beauty community and started getting more knowledge about skincare products. Looking back, no wonder I had so many skin problems! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌸Cleanser: Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Daily Face Wash and Pads.
This was the only "cleanser" I used, even if I had make up on! I used the pads after school and used the face wash every morning and night. As a teen with acne, I'd buy any "acne combating" products 😫
🌸Toner + Moisturizer: Pure Natural Toner and Moisturizer
I used this because my mom used it too (and she has really nice skin!) But now that I think of it, this had too much alcohol in it for me and it wasn't enough for a moisturizer. I used to slather 4-5 skins every night and wonder why I would get all oily in 30 minutes. The alcohol dried me out and thus my skin was producing excess oil 😭
🌸Acne Treatment: Clearasil Acne Treatment Cream
I thought this cream worked because it dried out my acne... In reality it just dried out my skin and made my acne worse.
🌸Sunscreen: Okay... this is the worst part. I didn't put sunscreen on daily! I just used random banana boat sunscreens whenever I went swimming😫 Reapplying wasn't even in my vocabulary...
🌸I also used a LOT of gimmicky products as well. Exfoliating gels, peels, scrubs, loads of other "acne treatment" products and honestly I'm so glad I found this community! Do you regret using (or not using) products before you started your skincare routine now?
