______________________________________________________________The TR-85 is a main battle tank designed for the armed forces of Romania. Based on the TR-77-580 (Romanian-built version of the Soviet T-55 tank), the TR-85 tank was developed from 1978 to 1985 and produced from 1986 until 1990. A modernization program was initiated in March 1994 in order to upgrade the TR-85 tanks to NATO standards. The result was the TR-85M1 main battle tank, currently the most modern tank in service with the Romanian Land Forces. Although a further development of the T-55, the TR-85M1 uses a T-block powerpack (similar to the one used in the Leopard 1) based on a V8 German 830 hp diesel engine, an improved turret, a locally-designed "Ciclop" fire control system (with cross-wind sensor, laser rangefinder and night vision), new 100 mm BM-412 Sg APFSDS-T projectiles and a completely redesigned suspension with 6 road wheels on each side, protected by metal side skirts. Combat weight is 50 tons.

_______________________________________________________________In 2001 around 310 T-90S tanks were imported from Russia, out of which 120 were complete but 90 in semi-assemblies and 100 to be assembled completely at the local facility. The decision was motivated on the double ground that the Arjun project was way beyond schedule mostly because of hydrogas suspensions system issues, and because the similarities between the T-90 and the T-72M were such that maintenance and training could be reduced significantly (the unit price also was to be much lower). Given the new features of the tank, basically a mix between the T-72 and the T-80U, the T-90 fleet would not need significant upgrades for at least a decade, allowing the Arjun to came into numbers in the meantime.————Вариант танка Т-90С для армии Индии, 2000 г. ______________________________________________________________The EE-T1 was considered for service with the Saudi Arabian Army. It was evaluated against the French AMX 40, the American M1 Abrams, and the British Challenger 1 and emerged as the winner. The Osorio was quite cheap and affordable while having better results in the trials than the other three MBTs. In September 1989, Saudi Arabia quietly opted for the M1 Abrams instead and only announced its new decision shortly after Iraq invaded neighboring Kuwait, triggering the Persian Gulf War. The two unique prototypes were given to the Brazilian Army as a result of Engesa going bankrupt.

The turret and the loading mechanism were developed by ICSITEM research institute from Bucharest, while the chassis was designed by ACSIT–P 124 from the F.M.G.S. (FMGS stands for "Fabrica de Mașini Grele Speciale" - Special Heavy Equipment Factory) division of the "23rd August" (now known as FAUR) factory from Bucharest. The gun was hydraulically stabilized in two planes, laser rangefinder, a new carousel for automatic loading of the gun (which had a rate of at least 8 rounds per minute), ballistic computer, laser illumination warning system and facility launch smoke grenades automatically in the event of activation of the laser sensors. P-125 had a composite armor which include tungsten and allegedly titanium along with other materials (steel, rubber, etc.). There are no official reports about the composition of armor but an engineering calculation of weight compared to the volume and surfaces of TR-125 suggests that it weights more than it should and it may be because of the density of the alloy used in armor.
