"The XXI Republican contest of young performers "Zhas kanat" was held in the capital's Congress Hall from May 18 to 20 and gathered a record number of participants. Almost a hundred young Kazakh artists claimed for participation in it for the first time in 21 years of the project's existence. For organizers of the contest there was a difficult task - to choose from among them 16 worthy for the performance on the stage of the Congress Hall. And among others was sounded the name of the Aktobe resident Dimash Kudaiberegenov.
The toss-up for the contestants was at the height of the bird's flight, in the Bayterek Hall. For three days they went through three stages. After the first round, the jury members identified the names of ten young performers. They also continued the fight the next day in the semifinals, singing one song. The semifinal became a kind of mixture of different songs, allowing the artists to show all the possibilities of the voice, and the jury members to look closely at the contestants.
And only five of the most talented came to the finals and entered the fight for the gold, silver and bronze "Wings" of the winners. They will have to sing two songs.
Dimash, the son of famous Kazakh singers Kanat and Svetlana Aitbaeva, literally amazed and fascinated the jury and the audience with his voice. He performed the songs "Я люблю тiльки тебе", "SOS d`un terrien en detresse". On the second day of the contest, the jury unanimously put the highest score for Dimash - 180 out of 180 possible.
Such unanimity is a rarity on vocal competitions of this scale. And if you take into account that this year the composer Tolegen Muhamedzhanov was the chairman of the jury, and Kenes Duysekeyev, Murat Kusainov, Rahat Zhaksybay, Nurzhamal Usenbayeva and many other well-known Kazakh cultural figures joined the jury panel, this recognition is worth more than any awards. Moreover, the unique voice of the young Aktobe singer was called as "a guy about whom cries the opera" [who was born for opera].
