This is Wild Thing Pose (Camatkarasana) One poetic translation of Camatkarasana means "the ecstatic unfolding of the enraptured heart."

It has definitely been a while since my last aerial class and I've been missing it every single day. It's always great to practice both on the mat and on silks to keep your workouts balanced. Here's a fun clip of me sommersaulting into #Adho #Mukha #Śvānāsana. 😊💪✌

תנוחות יוגה רבות קיבלו שמות של חיות, וכך יש לנו את תנוחת החתול, הפרה, הצפרדע, הלטאה, הקוברה, העורב, היונה ועוד.
ויש גם כמובן את הכלב. כלב מביט מעלה, וכלב מביט מטה / הכלב המתמתח. התנוחה הזו די בסיסית והיא מהאהובות עלי. כי היא מצוינת ויתרונותיה רבים.
ראשית היא תנוחה חצי הפוכה (הראש נמוך מהלב והלב נמוך מהטבור, ויש לה על כן השפעות מערכתיות טובות) אבל לא הארד קור. כלומר לא הפוכה וורטיקלית ממש, והרגליים שוברות את הרצף, ויש לכך יתרונות מבחינת אפשרות הביצוע ע״י אוכלוסיה גדולה יותר - משקל הגוף אינו מועמס על חוליות הצוואר (שהן קטנות יחסית), אלא מחולק בין הידיים והרגליים.
בנוסף, התנוחה עובדת היטב על שרירי הכתף, על זוקפי הגב ועל מתיחת שרירי העכוז והירך האחורית. כ״כ נמתחים שרירי התאומים וגיד אכילס.

The simplicity of this pose brings everything into perspective. Although when you first begin to experience downward-facing dog it isn't all that easy, it requires strength, flexibility (in your mind) and most of all learning to breathe. Often I practice different variations to support how my body is feeling? In this particular one I have my feet a little closer to my hands to support the lengthening of my hamstrings. Overtime this posture becomes a resting pose but for beginners it is not so (I remember when I first practiced this pose I certainly did not find it 'resting') as an alternative bending your knees, with heels off the mat, sending your hips high to the sky is a lovely way to experience a modified version. This will also elongate the spine making it even more delicious to breathe fully. For beginners you may hold for a few breaths then rest on your knees in child's pose. This pose Adho Mukha Svanasana (in Sanskrit) reminds me with practice ALL is possible. Wherever you are in your practice or in life remember step by step toward your hearts desire will keep you in your flow and you WILL grow. Stay true to your intentions in life but DO let go of expectations. Instead of expectations fill yourself up with gratitude, love and oxygen! 💙
